Happy Hour: Lavender Lemonade

I’m a sucker for all things lavender. I love the smell, the taste, the benefits, and it’s beautiful to boot. I also LOVE an ice cold lemonade, especially in this summer heat. Adding lavender just enhances the flavor, and adds a yummy dose of calm and relaxation to your busy day.

This recipe is super easy…like, super easy. Mainly because I’m not a chef. Boiling water and cutting lemons is basically the extent of my culinary triumphs, so if you are easily intimidated by Pinterest recipes and the thought of cooking basically anything, gives you anxiety, you’re in good company.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Small pot

A pitcher

A strainer

7 Lemons

3 Tbsp. Culinary Lavender

1 Cup Granulated Sugar

6 Cups Water (divided)

WHAT TO DO:

Pour your sugar, lavender, and 1 cup of water into a small pot. Let simmer over low-medium heat, until sugar has completely dissolved. Reduce temperature to a simmer, and let sit for about 5 minutes, to create a lavender infused simple syrup.

While you’re waiting for your sugar to dissolve & all of that lavender goodness to be absorbed, cut 6 of your lemons in half. Place your strainer over the pitcher, and juice the lemons into the pitcher. The strainer helps catch the seeds.

Once your simple syrup is ready, pour into pitcher (again through the strainer).

Then fill your pitcher with the remaining water.

Slice your remaining lemon, into thin slices for garnishing.

Pour lemonade over ice & enjoy!
